Taking a road trip can be a lot of fun, but you want to make sure your vehicle is ready for it. Taking your vehicle in for regular oil changes and tire rotations is a given, but if you haven’t done it in a while, having it done before a road trip can prevent simple breakdowns or accidents. There are items you want to have in case of an emergency on long road trips. Water, food, blankets, flares/reflectors, spare tire and tools, cell phone and charger, and a road map to where you are going is recommended for a safe trip.
Entertainment along the way is also important. Music, road games, such as I Spy, books for the passengers, taking pictures, and interesting conversation can all reduce the boredom that can happen on long road trips. The most important thing for your road trip is to have a plan in place.
