When you call conventional oil 'natural' oil, it confuses the issue. Conventional oil is natural, yes. Synthetic oil, on the other hand, isn't unnatural or unconventional. It is natural, regular oil that has been treated and processed on a molecular level to change the behavior of the oil for the better under extreme temperature conditions.
At high engine temperatures, conventional oil breaks down, and it no longer maintains the viscosity to protect the heated engine parts. The additives, like the cleaners that keep your engine clean, have a tendency to dissipate and no longer do the job. This makes your engine dirty and at times sluggish. Synthetic oil doesn't react the same way in extreme cold or heat. It maintains its viscosity more readily than conventional oil.
