There is a choice of three different powerplants for the 2015 RAM 1500. New model at a base level include 3.6 liter V-6 engine, that is tuned for 305 hp and 269 pound feet of torque, combined with eight speed automatic transmission. This engine is powerful enough for casual truck drivers. Second option is 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 power plant, it is powerful engine which makes 395 hp and 407 pound feet of torque, and they incorporate variable valve timing VVT and a cylinder shut-off system. A Traction Control system improves the driver's control over their vehicle, even when traveling on rough roads. The 1500's control is also supported via an included Electronic Stability system. While the 5.7-liter V8 has the highest rated towing capacity, the diesel V6 is a close second, and it offers much better fuel economy to boot.
